Kola
wins red dot award 2012
Kola
convinced the international expert jury of the “red dot award:
product design 2012” and received one of the coveted awards after
an evaluation process lasting several days. A total of 4,515 designs
from all over the world were submitted to the renowned product
competition. With its high design quality, Kola inspired the experts.
It received the globally sought-after red dot for its fine design
language in the product design category.
The
Kola product family designed by Mikko Laakkonen,
is aesthetically and weight wise a light chair making it fit both
public and private modern interiors. The seat, manufactured of 100%
recyclable polyester felt, is part of the supporting construction. It
has also great acoustic absorption capacities. The felt seat can
easily be renewed which gives the chair a longer life cycle and
accordingly it leaves a smaller ecological footprint. The upholstered
cushion gives extra comfort and allows the use of playful colours.
Fire resistant and easy to clean. Kola family includes an easy chair,
a rocking chair, a meeting or dining chair with different leg options
and a stacking small chair with or without armrests,
or with a crossleg for meeting applications.
The
award-winning products are exhibited in the red dot design museums
“Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design
2012”
special exhibition 3rd - 29th July 2012

–
the red dot – has established itself internationally as one of
the
